Today's Teletekst for ANR/EBAW shows a flight VLM720 to Leipzig. This is not a regular destination. Would this be a charter, or a try-out of a new scheduled service? Curious that it has a VLM flight number, whereas the LCY services have VG...
With only a single flighttoday, and no return flight at all, I take it to be a charter; but I thought these would have some letter added to the flight number?

Re: VLM to Leipzig?
Good idea to take a look at the other airport's website! Why the return flight is not mentioned on Teletekst remains a bit of mistery...

another charter by The Aviation Factory!
Re: VLM to Leipzig?
There is still a black hole in European aviation:
flights between Leipzig + Dresden towards other European destinations. Or you have to fly to Berlin and travel further by rental car or train. Or you have to do it in 2 steps, e.g. over Frankfurt, Düsseldorf or Munich. ( let's forget for a second the Ryanair flight to Altenburg from Stansted )
The south of former East-Germany has a lot of modern manufacturing. Erfurt, Halle, Leipzig, Dresden are all surrounded by modernised industry. I don't know if Lufthansa has a semi kind of monopoly on Leipzig and Dresden. Maybe the destinations are not profitable. No idea.

Air France to CDG is also a good option... or German Wings to CGN
but indeed if you want to get somewhere it's not easy out of LEJ

Re: VLM to Leipzig?
I am afraid it will really not be very profitable. Leipzig and Dresden are not that small, and yes, they have some manufacturing industry there, but it is not THAT big either ... And it is not the major tourist destination like you have with Marseille or Bordeaux which you might be able to compare regarding size and industrial density. So it is not surprising you have to got via a main hub airport from there or to there. However, if there is some traffic BRU-LEJ because of DHL now and if BRU will become a little LH/SN/*Alliance hub as well, than a flight BRU-LEJ with a small aircraft might be possible in the future. Lets see. But that would most likely than not be with VLM.
