Volare already flies from Zaventem and SkyEurope is not a Polish, but a Slovak airline. I gueuss it will be a more abscure airline like Evolavia. Wizz and Air Polonia will be the Polish canidates.

Good for CRL airport, this gives them a little more guarantee for operations. The statement that CRL is not Ryanairport is ofcourse not correct, when you enter the airport everywhere you look you see blue and yellow and Ryanair signs, so I guess some repainting has to be done before the other two low cost carriers arrive.

According to the Press, minister Kubla would give more details about the agreements "later today".

"Competition is about avoiding competition"

I don't think there going to compete with Ryanair. But its good that the new Chaleroi terminal is going to be used by more than one airline, who knows when there going to start building ?

Maybe we can all give them a hand with the repainting?
BobClaes, shall we give them a hand for some free tickets?

Indeed Air Polonia was thinking to add "Brussels" to its map.

To me no surprise that all low cost operators "with little or no money" will start to operate from CRL. When you have the choice to go to CRL or BRU and sell it as "Brussels", CRL is preferable as its a third or so cheaper. And surely they don't mind that the passenger has to walk 50km or so to reach the "real" Brussels.

The lucky winners are Axis Airways (France) with 3 weekly flights to Pescara (jeezzzzz....) and Air Polonia with 2 weekly flights to Warsaw and 3 weekly flights to Katowice.

Very good news for CRL! But what is happening with Eco Air? It is very quiet about them!

@Erwin

Painting the terminal for a free ticket ? Let me make this very clear.... Do you remember my Jet Bob story ? "If I have to compair myself to an airline, it would definitely not be a low cost carrier, more-likely high maintenance".

Good news but also a little disappointing at the same time, 5 flights a week

There is still talk about an eventual CRL-BUD by Wizz , at least they said that on RTBF, after announcing that Air Polonia and Axis Airways were to add approximately 100 000 yearly passengers to the 1.8Mil Ryanair-passengers.

Will the paint-scheme of the airport hall change, because now it is all yellow and blue (=ryanairport) :?:

I really like the Air Polonia scheme :!: Couldn't they come to BRU instead, that's nearer for me to go spotting :D

Well that's finally some good news for Charleroi. With those new airlines flying to CRL the airport might get more popular for LCC and could maybe attract another airline to make it's base there. This would then definately end FR's monopoly at CRL

Wasn't the blue and yellow paintings there before FR came to CRL :?:

Anyway the airport definately needs some new paintings

Ciao

Bob, why would you work to get free tickets... you can sometines get for a mere €5 bank-note?

Are you going to sub-contract painters from India? Pakistan?

Best regards

Kubla estimates that the new airlines could account for some 100,000 additional passengers in CRL. Compared to Ryanair's expected 2,000,000, that's a only 5% increase. But still good to take!

Héhé! Bart, competition for SN Brussels Airlines.

But isn't SN going to drop Pescara from its network?

Wizzair is also in talks with CRL for flights to Budapest! (article in LLB of 7/2/2004).

Their website is www.wizzair.com but is poor in information.
