Load Factor of SNBA fligths in January ???
Hello
This morning, I read, in an other forum, that SNBA had a low load factor.
; " ... However (and realizing that January is a very slow month), I took about 6 SN flights in Europe this month alone, and the loads were just terrible. Of those flights, I haven't counted more than 21 passengers on any one of those flights..." from Airliners.net
Any informations or any expériences about this???

Dear,
I can give you examples of full flights as well.
We will communicate our loadfactor as we do every month via the Association of European Airlines.
What I can tell you: January is always a weak month for the entire European aviation industry. There are no exceptions on this yearly trend. The loadfactor of SN isn't bad at all and much better than last year. Wait and see
It's not the loadfactor that counts but the average yield determines the succes or failure of an airline. Some airlines went bankrupt with a loadfactor of more than 70 pct, other are succesful with a loadfactor of 55 pct...

Thanks for your reply, PressSN.
LG has always been a profitable airline with low load factors. Seen the past three quarterly profits of SN, they have apparently found a kind of 'niche' in the (Belgian) market with a good mix of high yield business passengers paying full fare Y or C tickets, combined with Best Buy / Q / V / B tickets to increase the loadfactor and the sales in general.

Some examples: check the current load factor of AA/UA/DL/... and check their financial situation afterwards. Those airlines have loads of 70% and higher, but are extremely loss-making.It's not the loadfactor that counts but the average yield determines the succes or failure of an airline. Some airlines went bankrupt with a loadfactor of more than 70 pct, other are succesful with a loadfactor of 55 pct...

Hi all,
I can confirm pressSN. I was also on a flight of SN to Rome. I was lucky to fly Business Class. When I left for Rome there were 'only' 8 people in business, but when I came back there were 17 on a total number of 30 seats (A319 flight). This means even for business seats more than 50% and this during January.
Load factors are calculated at the end of the month. They are avarage values. You will have flights which are full and others which are almost empty. Quite normal ...
PS: I will have the oportunity to fly SNBA to Helsinki next week, as well as to Athens some weeks later

I concur. You will see in my report that the LF of my flight to MAN on 13 Jan was 60%, about the SN average these last months.

Talking about financial results, does someone know when SN will publish its results of 2003?demol wrote:Will you also communicate the monthly financial performance of SN operationsWe will communicate our loadfactor as we do every month via the Association of European Airlines.Because that's what really matters and it is far more interesting than meaningless load factors

Demol, you can't compare SNBA with LH, AF or KL.The current average load factor is nothing to write home about eitherIn my opinion, the loads are rather disappointing
Certainly in comparison with other AEA member airlines

As for the LF it self, we can be happy that the loads are increasing every time without any exception, so the trend is positive and not negative.
SN grows slowely but sureley.

to business destinations it seems that the have a very good load factor this months, because I did a quick check two weeks ago for last week (MUC-BRU as well as BRU-VIE) and the fares indicate that the flights should have been almost full (ok car ride is also funny -because gexx from MUC was not a good decision because of the flight time and LH or CSA claimed even the same as SN did)
Jumbolino.
PS: nobody interested in a car trip report ? I could offer 1500 km within 24 hours (HORROR PUR !)
