also to bad that both flights are arriving that late, no possibility anymore for 'last flight' pictures.

Really bad day for Sobelair, its staff and Belgian Aviation

Ryanair is looking for CA's at this moment for CRL, maybe some people can at least continue their job even it is with another carrier.

The last flight SLR 1826 from Mombasa will NOT arrive today at 21.20 local

The plane is U/S at Zanzibar, they will probably arrive tomorrow.

I had a bad feeling already, but I heard the news on the radio this afternoon when I was at Abelag. Was a very emotional moment, knowing that this is the seventh bankrupt Belgian airline in 5 years:

1999: Constellation International Airlines
2000: Air Belgium
2001: Brussels International Airlines
2001: CityBird
2001: Sabena
2002: Delsey / VG Airlines
2004: Sobelair

Sad regards, Robin Bamps.

Sabena4ever,

I had contact with Mombasa. The plane is still U/S in Zanzibar. When repaired it has to go first to Mombasa, so It won't arrive at EBBR before tomorrow night.

According to SLR Ops it's (very provisional) planned to arrive at 22.00 Hr local on tuesday.

Very sad day .... I was with 2 of the above and can (re)feel the situation all of the SLR employees are going through ..... very said.
The only thing I can do is give my moral support to all of them.
