Question about a pic at LHR

Post by Sparrow »

I've seen a picture of a A340-300 of Gulf Air at LHR.
Picture: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1242728/L/

I think the aircraft is standing at the gate on the stand for an A340. But the first position at the gate you can see a stand for a B747,B777, A200 and the A340-5 (written on the ground).

My question, what kind of aircraft is an A200?

Kind regards
Bavo

It is almost scary to see how people notice these details!
Anyway, I doubt it is for a Beriev 200.

The mark is for the A330-200 which is quite shorter than the A330-300, the latter being the same length as the A340-200.
By the way, notice that this A340-200 is stopped on the marker of A330!

If you look even closer you will see it stopped correctly for the A340, look for th ecross line on the centerline, it just happens the the cross is at A330, but it refers to all the other aircraft mentioned in that block,

Firtst thing I noticed was the rather terrible state of the tarmac :)

Could it be the position for the tug?
