Malaysia Airlines flew to BRU in the past ?

Post by spotter1102 »

I have recently read that Malaysia Airlines operated regular flights to BRU in the past. Anyone can confirm this ?

Thanks in advance

Yes indeed , they fly to BRU , I think at about 3 times a week with B747
They closed the station and send their passengers over LHR Since that moment they increased the number of pax from Belgium .

Sofar as I remember they stopped after Thai and before SQ .

Currently also a lot of Belgian MH traffic is channeled through FRA.

MH flew a few combinations I think there was KUL-DXB-ZRH-BRU and then later it became KUL-DXB-BRU-MAD or something similar.

They were operating Boeing 747-400s on the route and DXB wasn't as known by the general public in those days as it is today.

I guess a 332/78x KUL-DXB-BRU would make sense nowadays. But given MH's difficulties I rather see them trying to sustain their hub presences with this type of traffic rather than launching point-to-point. At least for the time being.

If I recall well, they started with dc10 first. Later on they changed to 747-400Combi.
