Qatar to announce B787 order!!(eventually!!!)

Post by keen_watcher »

Below quoted from Air Transport World online news today:

Qatar Airways confirmed this week that it is preparing to announce a 787 order. After refusing to do so last week (ATWOnline, July 23), CEO Akbar Al Baker said in Washington Monday, "very soon, we will be announcing a huge order for Dreamliners."

"very soon, we will be announcing a huge order for Dreamliners."

I wonder what this means. Qatar announced an order for 80 A350 XWB's at Paris (I thought this was huge!). Just how large can "a huge order for Deramliners" be?

I expect they are waiting for Dubai, their logo was on the 787 at the roll out.

rumour has it they will announce the thirty on Boeings UFO list as well as some additional options to be taken up.

Whats not listed is options. That could be the huge part.

I also think they are waiting for Dubai. Maybe 40 Dreamliners they ordered? As of today, before the update on its order page, there are about 40 unidentified orders for the Dreamliner.
