This order may be a big boost for Boeing.

Re: Delta may order Boeing
This does not belong in this post, because Delta is considering placing an order by the end of the year !boeing797 wrote:This order may be a big boost for Boeing.

So it has nothing to do with the paris Air Show and it's not even an order (yet).

The B777-300ER could well belongs to Air France. it would permit BTW to complete the F-GSQ* family with F-GSQZ. ILFC's website will have to be checked in the coming months...rut-her wrote:* International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) orders 50 Boeing 787 (+2 options), 10 737 series, and 1 777-300ER aircraft
Yes they are, but Spinetta clearly refered about 13 B777-300ER and 5 B777-200LRF.teach wrote:Air France: 9 777-300ER + 9 options (probably the ones they said they'd buy a few weeks ago)

A friend's son is an executive with Northwest Airlines (NWA) and has worked extensively wth Airbus and Boeing. He reports that the NWA personnel are really impressed with the B787 and that it will be a real game changer.cageyjames wrote:It has to be Delta or American. I know Delta was supposed to happen later this year as has been reported, but I saw American on the TV saying that they had no plans for any orders this summer.
If only it was US Airways....
I too, wish that US had ordered the 787, but the President of US reported that they got a price that could not be beat! Money talks.
Some great shots of the Boeing Chalet and the Air Show:

Seems quite logical to me. This is the easy way to go, and the less expensive also. Transavia and KLM stick on B737NG, KLME&M beeing on the B737 MRO market as well, while AFI focuses on A320 MRO market. This way, they are not competing with each other. But it doesn't mean that the future narrowbodies will be selected both from Airbus and Boeing...
Why would it be strange? KLM pilots fly KLM planes, right? Then, why would they change their entire fleet (and thus flight crew qualifications)... just because the parent company flies busses? I don't think so!sn26567 wrote:Isnt't it strange to see KLM continue with 737s when its parent Air France buys A320s?HorsePower wrote:The 10 ILFC's B737 are for KLM.

I flew Amsterdam to Paris CDG in March on an Air France Boeing 737, and I'm surprised that plane was still considered suitable for transporting paying customers. Absolutely dreadful! I've never known such cramped conditions inside an airplane. I wasn't surprised when I read Air France decided to take them out of their fleet.
