As you maybe know, Hainan Airlines leased one of their B767-300 to Ethiopian Airlines. This means that Hainan is now in a shortage of aircraft. Its only temporally that they fly three times a week to Belgium.

But I have better news for the near future. Brussels Airport announced that Hainan Airlines is going to fly again 4 times a week and this with a new A330 aircraft replacing the B767-300ER.

Great news indeed, though it's exactly what I expected they'd do! Any idea when this will start? My prediction is that it won't be too long (two or three years) before they go daily on the route.

According to Brussels Airport at the beginning of the new winter schedule. I know that several Chinese carriers ordered Airbusses in 2003, also A330, but I have no clue when exact Hainan is going to receive the A330. They have ordered 7 of them.

HU has some A330 on the books with crews training in Toulouse.

Disruption of their sunday flight on PEK-BRU-PEK was due to shortage of aircraft as they opened a San Petersburg weekly flight for the russian market (with connectrion to to Sanya where Russians are the biggest foreign market)
Extra flights to BRU (or resuming of the 4 flights a week schedule) might be offered for the summer season of 2008 (and Olympics)

info---

-First deliveries on the A330 aircraft will occur by year-end 2007 and will continue through early 2009. The Airbus aircraft will be configured with the TopSeries i-4000 audio and video on-demand system throughout all classes with Thales’ new 10.6” widescreen displays in first class and 8.9” widescreen displays in economy.-

Hi andong,

only twice weekly next winter?! Hainan will have more planes this winter but they reduce BRU flights. I don't understand.

Were will the A330 be used? (Geneva?, Boston?,Brussels?)

Thanks for the information anyway.
