LTU FLIGHT FROM DUSSELDORF
I'm looking for a trip next year (Easter) to Bangkok (BKK).
Flight from BRU's about 750 E taxes included.
As i'm living not far away from Germany, I checked from DUS and I found a direct flight to BKK with LTU for about 560 E taxes included. So a good rate.
Do you know if LTU is a charter or regular airline (important for me)?
Is LTU fiable?
Does someone already fly with them?
When you surf on their website, that seems like a new airline from March 2007????
Thanks for all informatons about;

Maybe your computer is, but LTU was founded in 1955.firrech wrote:When you surf on their website, that seems like a new airline from March 2007????
They fly from DUS or MUC to BKK and HKT.
If you are planning to fly beyond these destinations, check their tru-fares.
btw1, EU decided that all fares departing from EU will have to be published all in. EU means by this including all taxes, fuel or other supplements; what they want is one total and final amount. That will make it easier to compare fares.
That decision was taken last Friday by the European Ministers. The decision has still to be approved by the EP.
btw2, if you were to doubt about departing from DUS or AMS, the price of your train ticket would not be much different. Between 32 and 36Euro.
These seat pitches are "typical" seat pitches offered by an airline. And I don't like the "pitch from... till..." on their own website: only very few seats will probably have the largest (sic) leg space.

But then: DUS is easily accessable, rate is better, LTU is reliable and safe.

Yes, and before you book a XL-Seat / long distance flight with more legroom: for an extra charge of EUR 60,- or EUR 50,- respectively (LTU cardholder) per person/leg*LX-LGX wrote:These seat pitches are "typical" seat pitches offered by an airline. Check if the difference to the Business Class fare is not near, maybe for some few more euros, you can then enjoy the C-service.
*Note they will not check your legs, but 'leg' as each flightsector.
Technically spoken a flight (example) BRU-NBO-KGL with the same flightnumber has two legs, leg one: BRU-NBO and leg two NBO-KGL. It gets even more difficult when the operation is a triangular one. In other words when your destination is on the return flight with a different number: example BRU-NBO-KGL-EBB-BRU. Your destination being EBB (Entebbe) and the flightnumber is changing @KGL, your will have flown 2 legs on the outbound and one on the inbound.
LTU is not clear about how they calculate the legs....
And BTW a piece of advice: Keep your legs moving during air travel
Thank you very much for answers.
But is LTU a charter airline when they fly to BKK or a regular?
Yesterday i read a charter airline can't sell direct tickets : just via a tour operator.
With LTU, I can buy ticket directly on LTU website?
So may I say it's a regular airline or not?
It's important for me because i get complimentary free insurances (cancel, assistance, lost or late luggage,...) only on regular flight.
Which are excactly differences between?
Thanks.

A ticket is a contract.firrech wrote:With LTU, I can buy ticket directly on LTU website?

When you buy a ticket via a agent, the agent acts as go-btween you and the airlne.
Buying a ticket via travel agent has some advantages, the travel agent lets you pay for.
Both the ticket and the seperate bill the travel agent has to deliver to you will be part of your contract.
When you buy a ticket from an airline, you usually will get only the ticket.
To see the difference you have to read the regulation concerning the travel agent. In Belgium you have 3 regulations, so depending where your travel agent is located, and NOT you, will determine the contract conditions.
Now the difference between charter and regular flights.
Charter actually is also a contract. In this case between a carrier and a travel agent, eventually acting as whole seller, via other travel agents. The travel agent contracting with the carrier may be a tour operator.
The sales of tickets on charter lines is usually organised via selected agents.
But LTU flights to Thailand are regular flights, some destinations in Thailand may also be seasonal. So there maybe more flights in Winter than in Summer, because Summer in Europe, is not the best season in Thailand.
Why are tickets in July then more expensive?
Because there is compared to other months quite more demand compared to the offer, and the carriers can fill their flights at relatively higher prices. Tour operator will charge you also higher rates, although Thailand in July/ August is rather low season. And it might rain a lot. btw this weekend was more hot in sunny Northern Europe than in rainy Northern Thailand.
