Sarkozy Makes Airbus Top priority

Post by aerophile »

New French President appears to have made the 'rescue of Airbus his top priority.

Are the problems more severe than imagined, France just intent on making Airbus a 'French' enterprise or Sarkozy just playing to the politics.

BTW did I do this right?

Airbus is part French, so Sarkozy trying to "rescue" Airbus, is another way of saying, "I have to protects jobs, or else I'll be gone in 6 years".

This statement appears to contradict what has been previously reported.

Interesting article. In the long run, Airbus would be serve best if governments do not own any part of it, and only if private Aerospace companies in Europe make up the EADS consortium. It seems Sarkozy is taking a long term view of that governments role in EADS and has probably decided that it would be best if the French government has little stake in the consortium, at least that is my interpretation.

He is just saying action has to be taken, witch is correct.

I especially like the comment below the article, by a US reader... Just priceless!

the comment is indeed very intelligent.
The guy must be proud.

The president of a country trying to save one of the most important company of the country, with the help of his european partner, everything looks normal to me.
