Connection TGV - CDG - KIX !?

Post by ChrisjeJapan »

Hi Everybody,

I don't know if I have to introduce myself on this forum. But I have some questions about CDG and Air France, after reading a lot of bad things about them.
To know what to do, would give me some piece of mind.

I'm taking the TGV train in Brussel-Midi, with a ticket from Air France which combines train & plain.

At 11u44 I arrive at the TGV platform in CDG, where I have to take my luggage. (The luggage doesn't get taken care of from beginning to end).

I only have 2 hours to check-in at terminal 2F with my luggage. Because the plain to Osaka leaves at 13u45. The last check-in deadline according to the Air France Website is 1 hour before the flight.

Shall I make it on time?

I already have a map of the terminals etc. It seems to me that I have to take the elevator/stairs from the TGV platform untill the 4th level (to go to the terminals 2E, 2F, etc) and from there it should only by a five minute walk to terminal 2F.

But when I arrive at 2F, where is the Air France check-in counter? And there, do they take care of your luggage?
Security check is it before or after the check-in at the counter?

Thanking you in advance!
Kind greetings!

Hallo ChrisjeJapan,

I made a few trips to St. Maarten using the Thallys and Air France in the past.
I only had about 100 minutes time to connect between the TGV and the flight and I made it without a problem, even when the TGV was 20 minutes late.

At Brussels Midi station you get your boarding-pass for the TGV AND for the flight at the Air France check-in desk.
It is correct that you will have to collect your lugguage after the train journey and take it to the airport check-in desk yourself. Finding the sesk shouldn't be a problem as it will be on the screens where to go.

As you have 2 hours, I shouldn't worry.

I just hope you have plenty of time to connect on the return-trip back to Brussels, because on my trips from St. Maarten it took me beween 1.30 and 2 hours to collect my lugguage from the flight at CDG !!!

Have a nice trip.

Dear ChrisjeJapan,

There used to be a page on their website stating tat they guaranteed the connection between the Train and the Plane. I went on their site now, and I can't find it back! I used to make a printout of that page and take it with me when I had to transfer at CDG.

Anyhow, you have to transfer to 2F, that's just next to the railwaystation. So that's not to bad. Two hours should be enough if your train isn't delayed to much!

Kind regards and good luck!

Stij

P.S. Once you'r eon the plane enjoy the Air France service, I find it one of the better ones around these days.
