The second B747 is expected by the end of this month in Belgium.

The main route for this aircraft will be Amsterdam - Dubai - Hong Kong.

Hello

Very nice pictures of another beautifull Belgian 'Jumbo'.

Anyone knows the day and the time that this plane will arrive @ LGG?

Thanks and best regards: Yannick ;)

Will it be operating for TNT Express or is there another reason why they've chosen AMS instead of LGG :?:

End of next week normally.
2 TNT pilots are already in the States for the delivery flight.

I think is is leased out to Emirates Skycargo, hence the Dubai stopover...

The two B747 of TNT will be dry-leased to Emirates Skycargo for a period of 10 years. Emirates will use those aircraft's on their high demand routes till the first B777 and B747-8 freighters arrive.

10 years means until 2017??? That seems to be a very long period.

So that gives plenty of time to start scraping off all that new orange paint and to repaint the aircraft in EK colours? 8)

Hello,

Delivery is scheduled on 21 May, that means next Monday!
There are no flight details available, so unfortunately I can't give you the ETA at LGG...

Kind regards,
GR.

I don't know what your sources are, but that's the first time I hear the term 'dry-lease' in relation to the TNT 747's. Dry lease means that the lessor only provides the a/c, and the lessee to provide crew, maintenance, insure, and even the AOC.
So that's certainly not the case with THA and THB. As the matter of fact, neither one of these aircraft will be leased out. They are, and will continue, to be operated by TNT Airways on behalf of TNT Express. Although some capacity is sold to third parties. And yes, they will also operate for EK, but only on ad-hoc basis, to fill up the gaps in the TNT flight schedule. And they will definately not be undone of their current livery.

The aircraft subject to the lease agreement between TNT and Emirates are OO-THC and OO-THD (to be delivered later this year). And this will be a wet-lease agreement. The only difference with THA and THB will be that THC and THD will be delivered (ex-factory) in Emirates livery.

Kind regards,
GR.

I confirm OO-THA and OO-THB will be flying for TNT.

OO-THC and THD(if any) will be part of the deal with Emirates!!!

The opening of a new route with the arrival of a new aircraft doesn't mean that that particular aircraft will be solely connected to this route.

Both THA and THB will be used on this new route, and vice versa THB will also be used for the LGG-PVG route.

Both a/c have their homebase at LGG.

Kind regards,
GR.
