Sabena A340s

Post by Ozzie1969 »

I have 2 simple questions.

1. How many Airbus A340s did Sabena have (leased or owned) ?
2. Where did these aircraft go after Sabena went bankrupt ?

For my second question I have found ex-Sabena A340s at Lufthansa, Royal Jordanian and Air Tahiti Nui. Are there any others?

Sabena ordered 5 A340: they were first three years leased to Air France, one of them burned out on the ground before goeing to Sabena: this was F-GNIA.

SQA, SQB were not taken up.

During 1998, one airframe was tempo leased from Airbus: F-OHPZ, due to a mishap of OO-SCW.

The 2 Lufthansa machine are now with Air Namibia.

Status of Sabena's 4 A340 on Belgian register are updated via my web on this page.
