New EU blacklist released

New EU blacklist released
The European commission has released a new version of its blacklist.
The official version can be found here: http://ec.europa.eu/transport/air-ban/list_en.htm
Some things I noticed: HewaBora is not even allowed to fly the Tristar in to the EU any more. The only plane they can fly in to the EU is a 767-266ER. What's the reg of this plane?
No trace to be found any more of DAS air, so will we see them again in Belgium, or did they shift their operations in other companies?
Bravo Air Congo is also not welcome in the EU. Guess this is the reason why the plane still flies as Bravo Air? Or isn't there a link between these two companies?
(Never knew Kyrgyzstan had so many carriers btw.)
On top of this Bulgaria also imposed a ban on some of its local cargo companies, some of which used to be frequent visitors at Ostende (Bright aviation, Vega, Air Sofia, Heli Air Services...)
Seems lik Russia did something similar with Atlant Soyuz, Gazpromavia, Utair (also for their GIV?) and some other companies.

For the moment Gemini is doing some flights for them from/to OST.Lyulka wrote:No trace to be found any more of DAS air, so will we see them again in Belgium, or did they shift their operations in other companies?
London, Paris, Rome and Amsterdam affected.
We've seen this coming....

All fleet with the exception of:

The ban affects 35 of the airline's fleet of 42 aircraft, with just seven Boeing 777s exempted: EU bans Pakistan airline flights

I think Bravo Air Congo was a special case in the sense that the long-haul fleet was registered in Spain, and therefore under the supervision of the Spanish DGAC.
Domestic operations are performed under DRC flag and DRC supervision, hence the (fully justified) ban.
Now regarding the future of these companies, I'm lost... "Dallas" and "Dynasty" combined couldn't be more complex.

But what happened in the mean time : the active fleet reduced by 62%...sn26567 wrote:DAS Air is indeed allowed to fly again to the EU.Lyulka wrote:No trace to be found any more of DAS air, so will we see them again in Belgium, or did they shift their operations in other companies?
* N401JR went to Avient
* 5X-JCR went to Arrow Air
* 5X-BON/DAS are stored
So only three DC-10's are left in active service (5X-JOE/JOS/ROY).
Let's hope they'll reactivate the two stored ones.

Pakistan's aviation after the ban....
PIA faces a crippling blow to its global operations following a decision by the European Union to bar all but seven of its 42 aircraft from flying in the EU's airspace.
The European complaints mainly addressed cleanliness and cabin interior issues, said PIA spokesman Mohammad Latif in Islamabad.
'The complaints were about smelly cabins, the condition of seats, the faded colour of the aircraft and so on,' he said.
EU officials have in turn said the restrictions were temporary and would be lifted when Pakistan upgrades its fleet.
Meanwhile in Karachi the first National Aviation Symposium 2007 will be held on Monday, where all domestic airlines and manufacturers of aircraft will participate.
Aviation experts will contemplate on the aviation scenario in Pakistan.
Also this week, it was denied that the EU move was intended to apply economic pressure on Pakistan as international partners demand greater efforts in the war against terrorism and the insurgency in Afghanistan.

Another troubles for PIA
PIA plagued by aircraft problems
http://www.dawn.com/2011/08/16/pia-plag ... blems.htmlAccording to sources, PIA’s Airbus A 310 (number AP BGO) was returning home from Milan via Paris on Tuesday and when it landed at Charles de Gualle airport the European aviation inspectors checked it and detected almost 40 snags in it and directed the crew to offload the passengers, and the aircraft was detained there.
