BRU-LHR-PVG on British Airways

Post by liebensd »

Trip report Shanghai with BA

Saturday the 10 of February after almost one hour with the taxi I arrived at Brussels airport. I went to the British Airways check in for flight BA393 to London Heatrow. Check in and security check went smooth and fast. At the gate was sill no aircraft, so I went first for a cup of coffie at the bar inside pier B. After a while BA A319 G-EUDA arrived from London. There were almost 10 passengers in Business class and the same in economy.
During the 1 hour flight we received a chicken warp and a drink, because of the low amount of passengers onboard a second snack was offered. Deplaning in London Heatrow was with air stares. After a few meters of walking we entered terminal 4. After the security check and some waking around in T4 I went to gate 2 for boarding BA169, but there was an delay of som 30 minutes. This time there was a 100% full aircraft minus 2 passengers who's bags were deloaded. I had seat 40 G onboard the B777 G-YMMN . That is one in the last row. After take off a lunch was offered. Chicken with mushrooms and steamed vegetables, salmon and potato salad and a peace of apple pie.
During the 10H30 flight I enjoyed the entertainment system and a very short sleep. During the night drinks and snacks were available in the kitchen. Before landing a breakfast of scrambled eggs, potatoes and mushrooms was offered. Landing was smooth.

On the 24th the back flight started at 10H55 local time at gate 24 of the Shanghai Pudong Airport fo flight B168. G-YMMP arrived one hour advanced. Again the economy class cabin was full. I had this time 39C. We had to wait before departure because China allows only one aircraft every 15 minutes into the European direction. After takeoff a lunch was offered, I took the chicken and rice dish. There was also a salad and a pace of chocolate cake. Almost half of the 12H30 flight a small snack was offered. A sandwich with cheese and tomato was offered and a bag of “Mumbai mix”.
Before landing there was a lasagne snack with some fruit salad. After landing there was a small delay when taxing to the gate because there was some cersione on the tarmac.
After another security check and some waking I went to the gate for my last flight of the trip, back to Brussels. The A320 G-EUPWwas almost 90 percent full on flight BA404. This time I had an emergency exit seat. During the 40 minutes flight the same in flight service and snack was offered as on the Brussels-London route.
After all the flights with British Airways were good and most of all they have an excellent crew!

My next flight is next Monday to Mumbai with Austrian.

Greetz,

Dave

I flew last year with BA to Vancouver. I've found them to be excellent as well!

Cheers,

Nice, Dave.
Image
I see a Mirambeau white wine.... Made of Sauvignon blanc-, semillon- and Muscadelle grapes, the classic three for white Bordeau. Excellent with ...seafood.
I see also a wrap with Dove.
That's not a piece of soap?

Nice report. :) It's been long since I've flown BA, last time was on a 744 and some other aircraft on BRU-LHR-DEN. I didn't experience any problems from what I can remember (I was only 6 at the time  )

P.S. The chicken offered looks an awful lot like a Beechcraft King Air
P.P.S. Dove is also a brand of chocolate
The most sexy girl in the sky: The Sud-Est Caravelle 12.

Nice report. However i think there is something wrong with the picture links. I dont think a Surinam Airways is supposed to be displayed when i click on "lunch", or a Beech when i click on "chicken".
