Post by Charlie Roy »

I have just noticed for the first time that Aer Lingus are now offering flights between BRU and JFK via Dublin.

Some bargains to be found!!! :D

It's a new development. Aer Lingus currently offer direct flights from JFK to Shannon and Dublin in Ireland. Traditionally they have also offered flights from JFK to a number of UK destinations via Dublin.

Now, they have revised this strategy, and decided to increase the number of destinations available from JFK via Dublin.

In all, Aer Lingus now offer 18 UK and European destinations from JFK via Dublin. Great idea on their part! I hope they'll market it successfully on both sides of the Atlantic :)

Just another way to attract more volume by selling seats at low fares which wouldn't have been sold otherwise...

A good way to increase your revenue...

This was a predictable move from Aer Lingus. They had put orders for new A330's recently and are separating from OneWorld alliance as part of their strategy. This is a why to look into getting new income.

Many people may prefer to change in Dublin as it's a more manageable airport than LHR, CDG or FRA.

Now it is possible to fly with Aerlingus to JFK and Boston Logon from Brussels, changing aircraft in Dublin.

Why such a fuzz about that?
When I was in ATH in the early 80, we announced our ATH-BRU morning flights as: This is the last call for Sabena flight 8xx to New York....
That is 25+ years ago. 8)

We then looked big in ATH, we had flights to New York, Kinshasa and Johannesburg to!
IST, CAI, BEY as well as BAGDAD!!!
And sometimes to BRU
