conge??

Post by b720 »

what a shame...indeed no passengers=no jobs...i know many people who still refuse to fly through paris out of fear of strikes (conges)..lost revenue..I would be the first to avoid brussels in case of strikes..and the hell with the jobs if this is the attitude..

Volgende dagen dreigen problemen op luchthaven Zaventem

So...it's not unlikely that Hainan's first flight to BRU at 20/07 will arrive at a closed airport and will be diverted to, let's say Schiphol, Paris... Nice welcome :(

I also work at the airport (BRU) and I like it a lot, but if there's one thing I don't like and that won't get my support it's BRU's history of successive strikes for whatever reason they can invent. Maybe a small amount of strikes were well-founded but certainly not all of them. At least the issues were not important enough to go and provoke the customers and the airliners.
I'm afraid the personnel at BRU will never understand that sometimes you have to make an effort to get somewhere. I think it's clear enough that Macquarie Airports are doing a great job in improving the Airport facilities and attrackting new/more passengers. Once there are more passengers/traffic there will be more budget to pay (and give more attention to) the personell.
If the passenger/cargo figures go up for some years and then they still wont do anything for the personell, then you certainly have my support for complaint. But I think now it's still to early.
Macquarie Airports is doing the investments in BRU that BRU needed to grow and maybe even to survive. I think that BRU has to starts it's new future by thinking about the passengers first and then the personell. I mean let's be honnest, it's not a nightmare working at BRU. The conditions are maybe not superb but fair enough to continue for a few years. If you keep on telling yourself every day again that it's not nice to work at BRU, indeed you won't enjoy working there. But if you try to look at the bright side, maybe this will give all of us the strength to continue for some time and give Macquarie Airports a fair chance.
No money in the world can buy you the satisfaction of good day at work.
