Let me share a rumour that does not seem unrealistic to me.
Following the Aer Arann 'disaster' (especially in terms of communication/miscommunication), a group of local industrials and corporations of the LGG region would be gathering to found a new Belgian pax airline operating out of Liège. Found the reasoning vey much parallel to the SNBA scenario, however one operational element that could be checked by fellow posters is the obvious ties with TNT Airways - quoting my source, the operating model would be based on that of the TNT pax operation. Destinations such as London and Nice would be in the picture. Forecasted launch: fall 2006. Can anyone confirm?
Passenger airline in LGG?

That's the second rumour of this year about a "new Belgian airline".
The first one was about starting up a new Belgian charter company. Forecast: spring 2006. There was only one source that gave that information: it was Tourmag. It was only a ghost.

For a while I have kept myself informed of the initial 'Sobelair' revival project, and I can confirm you for sure this project has been a reality.
Why 'has been'? It appears to have been dropped lately, especially because of the latest development of the Camair / SNBA project. Combined with the powerful AF presence in Africa, investors have been more cautious and are now carefully considering other options - of which one is about the development of niche markets within Europe. This group of investors has, by the way, nothing to do with the project in Liège.
As long as something materializes......
