A question regarding Wizzair

Post by CLW_aviator »

Hello,

As we all know, it is quite difficult to visit the cockpit during the flight, due to safety reasons. However, some airlines are more tolerant in this matter, permitting aviation enthusiasts to see the flight deck, than the others.
So, my question is... what about Wizzair? I really like the A320s and plan to fly Wizzair this year, but I don`t know how difficult it might be to see the cockpit there. Of course, it is all up to the captain`s courtesy, however some airlines are more strict about the safety regulations than the others, as I said, so how about Wizzair?
Once I was flying to Luton with Wizzair, the purser told me politely, but decidedly that it is impossible, she didn`t even bother to ask the captain. During my returning flight, the purser said she`ll ask the captain, but there was no effect... So, is there any possibility to see the cockpit?

I have flown Wizz Air a couple of times after they just started up their flights to Warsaw. Now I fly less with them (my girlfriend now lives together with me in Belgium, much easier:-) but for this summer I have again 2 flights planned with them.

I did have the luck to visit the cockpit once, after landing in Warsaw. How I did it: Ask a little bit before the landing at the steward(ess) if you can visit the cockpit after the landing. They told me that they would ask the captain but that nothing was sure. I don't remember when exactly, but just before landing, or just after, they told me that I could visit the cockpit. So I waited untill as good as everybody was off the plane, and then they let me in the cockpit, where I said hi to the captain and the first officer and asked if I could take a picture. They allowed it, so I made the picture, thanked them and got of the plane, as the bus was waiting.

But basically it is pure luck if they allow you, it really depends on the person. During flight is impossible, so better ask (with your nicest smile) for a quick visit after the flight. Try to pick out the nicest steward(ess). And of course behave as a modelpassenger during flight.

Good luck, it is possible!

PS: on that flight the FO was belgian, and he knew luchtzak.
