Hi all,
we are 2 people
next august we will fly MUC-PEK (Lufthansa A340-300).
and return PVG-MUC (Lufthansa A340-600).
We have pre-booked seats but we don't know the LH AIRPLANES.

Anybody experience with Lufthansa on long haul ?

And in general, how is the service and experience on LH for long haul? All information is welcome!

Hi!
I have never flew with lufthansa (fortunately or maybe unfortunately) but from what ive heard their service isnt the best or even good on longhauls... At least they miss PTVs which is one big - for me... Dont know how it is for you... Hope i helped a bit... Anyway enjoy your trip...

My experience is different. I flew many times long haul with LH, also to PEK (from FRA) and it is one of my favorite airlines, if not the most.

I fly very often and I expend many nights and take many meals on airplanes; and despite my home airport is AMS I always choose them as a first option because it really makes a difference.

However I understand that there maybe different opinions.

I flew the A343 once with LH. The overhead screens are fairly easy to see. Service is great.

I flew with them on long haul, though not on the A340's but on the B744, and their service is as usual. Quite tasty food, planes are OK (what can you expect in economy when you've paid the lowest fare?) and the service was very professional (depends from flight to flight).

On-time arrivals made this a very good (8,5/10) experience with them!

Just returned with them this morning on that specific flight. How about that? ;-)

Flight was absolutely excellent, especially the flight attendants. It was a long time ago that I entered an airliner, that the pursor greeted me, looked at my boarding pass and said, "Well Mr. Stij, we seem to have a windowseat for you tonight". Food and drinks were excellent and abundant. Seat pitch is normal. Just the lack of PTV. (For you the vivbility will not be a problem as you'll have a flat screen on the wall between Business and Cattle Class.)

I can't stress enough how well organised Lufthansa cabin crews are. One makes fun of the Germans and organisation, but even BA can learn from "zhe Germans".

The flight was however a bit disturbed by smoking passengers in economy, a few drunk passengers in business and the Chinese tourists on their first flight not having a clue about what was happening. The last group is actually pretty funny.

Kind regards,

Stij
