(My FIRST trip report)
I checked in on ME212, anxiously awaiting my arrival to BEY, and my reunion with my family. It had already been a long day for me, as i had just arrived from my flight on AC (YYZ-CDG), so, it was not fun being in an airport as boring, busy, and big as CDG. However, their gates in T2F are amazing, as you get such a spectacular view of the airplanes taking off.
After a long wait, passengers began boarding at 1250. I could not wait to see the MEA F/A in their new uniforms. My passport was checked, and i headed on to the A/C, admiring MEA beautiful livery. I was greeted by an attractive f/a, who looked stunning in their new, turquoise uniform. She kindly showed me to my seat, and helped me put my bags into the overhead bins.
It was now time to fly. The ME captain came on the PA, and told us about our destination, time, temp. etc, in 3 languages (arabic, english and French). We then watched the safety video, which was actually interesting, as it was in 4 languages, including English, French, Arabic, and Sign. The F/A's handed out french, english, and arabic newspapers, and checked to make sure our seat belts had been fastened.
As we lifted off, i admired the beauty of France from above. But, i was getting hungry, so i anxiously awaited FOOD TIME......
About 1 hour and a 1/2, the F/As began to serve us food. Now let me tell ya, the Lebanese sure know how to feed their guests right. We chose from our menus, and i chose to have the parmesan chicken with zuchinni and spinach, with a side of Smoked Salmon, colslaw, a tart, and a coke. And boy, was it delicious. We were even treated to METAL cutlery, something i have never really experienced in economy.
Anyways, after i finished eating, i cruised around MEAs entertainment system, which had 4 english movies, 2 children movies, 2 arabic movies, games, air show, dest. info, and tons of music. I was not bored for a minute aboard MEA.
The F/A's did two rounds of drinks after lunch, but i kept on using their open bar located near the lavatories.
We were about 1 hour away from BEY when the F/As began handing out hard candies, which i believe are to protect our ears when descending, which was a nice touch. I quickly ran to the lav to get refreshed, wiping my face and neck with MEA cologne and lotion.
We began to descend, and my heart began to beat uncontrollably, as it had been 1 year when i last saw my family members. And, there it was, beautiful BEY.
We smoothly touched the ground of BEY soon after. As we stopped, the pax began to clap, and i joined in. The captain said his final words in 3 languages, and we soon left the A/C.
Mea has never let me down. This flight was truly outstanding.
