Why is the A380 on its trip to Bahrain/Dubai, and maybe other destinations,
only escorted by french military planes(patrouille de france), and none
of the other German, Brtisch, Spanisch,etc... partners

The sale of the British interests in Airbus might raise a big problem. BAe are building the wings for most Airbus models. I hope this will not fall in the hands of a competitor!
It is likely that EADS (a truly international consortium that already owns 80% of Airbus) will acquire BAe's 20% to become the sole owner.

I'm sure Airbus will continue to succeed, but Britain is to become more and more isolated with the US "globalise or we'll get you" approach, whilst mainland Europe at least keeps in communicado with the rest of the world.

BAE is selling his stake in Airbus to EADS. But Daimler and Lagardere are selling part of their stakes in EADS! Is something going wrong with Airbus or EADS? Or is their one party who wants more control over airbus & EADS through buying stock?

The A340 is likely gone in 2008, the A330 no longer is competitive, its replacement has been dissed severely by three major buyers (ILFC, GE and Singapore,), the 787 is selling 3 or 4 to one (firm orders) to the A350 (not to mention apparently no one else would say the same thing because they are using to keep 787 prices down).(BBC)

That’s not success,, it’s a corporate failure of incredible proportions.
Airbus is in huge trouble, and they no longer will be able to hold their hand out to the European governments under the WTO rules.
They have fallen out of being one of the two major manufacturers to third tier status (even if they start now, its 10-15 years before they offer anything competitive), and they still have to keep the Boeing wolf away from the A320 door.

I would say that if BA goes with Boeing that’s to Britain’s benefit, as Boeing works on a competitive model, not a in country jobs model.
If ever there was a time for Bae to get out of Airbus it is now, the backlog of orders means that they get a good price, but they must be nervous of the future when they look at 787 sales and 747-8 prospects.
Also there is a rumour that Thales is to be bought out by EADS which makes EADS more French than ever with Bae having very litle say in the future of Airbus. Potentially a good deal for Bae and the skills at the UK factories means that jobs are safe for the immediate future.
Does this free up Bae for stronger ties with Boeing is the big question?

I am not french although living in France -bashing the french for their "national pride" in relation to Airbus is stupid !
To build a new factory-hall for the A380 plant in Toulouse was done like a piece of cake -in Germany it took ten years of ridicoulous struggle to lenghten the runway in Finkenwerder and nearly ended by cancelling the whole A380 project in Hamburg due to envirenmental issues.
Germany is unfortunately running head down against the wall in many matters -fortunately for EADS the main manufacturing center is in Toulouse and not in Hamburg!
France has many shortcommings and politicians are-as in most counties- rotten and close to their own deep pockets. But I am glad Airbus has it's heart in France and not in the UK,Germany or Spain - the public support for Airbus is second to none here and people identify themselves with the produce of Toulouse.
The strongest defender the germans ever had for Airbus is dead - it was Franz Josef Strauss, the former PM of Bavaria ( not by co-incidence a passionate jet-pilot himself..)
