I'd like to start a topic on the Airbus A330 -200 and/or -300. It such a very nice plane and our favourite airline use it (SN BA) . So send yout comments, pictures, remarks, everything you want even if you hate this plane ... Maybe an other type of the A330 will roll out who knows ? -400/-500 ????
I am in complete agreement. The A330 is a superb looking aircraft (I haven't been lucky enough to fly on one) and I always enjoy filming this type on video when I get the chance. Manchester is always a good place to see them, and I once got some superb footage as a bmi example taxied front on towards me. The huge wingspan can only be appreciated in front-on view and it always looks great on video.
Here's an example to show you what I mean (sorry it's not a Belgian airline).

I do not see anything original about the plane. ?
Lien !
It is the only Airbus to have the full winglets instead of the little ones combined with two engines. Other twin engined Airbus types have those winglets which are half at the top of the wing and half at the bottom, if you see what I mean. The A330 has 747-400 style winglets, in common with the A340, but only the two engines, unlike the A340.
Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.

I don't like that A330, it is to "simple' if I can say it like that. It looks very nice when you see the NWA A330 (saw it in Amsterdam and in Miami) but that has more to do with the beautiful NWA livery then the A330. What I have heard is that it is pretty noisy inside and it is less comfortable then the 767 and the MD-11. I will not even start about the 777 then. So in my opinion, to much attention for this plane, sorry.

I totally agree with you Comet.
I'm always very happy to see an A330 land when I go spotting. The view you get when you're looking at the plane from the front is just incredible 8O

Having flown both in the A330 (Sabena) and the B767 (AA and many others), I can tell you that I did not notice a difference in the noise. But the 330 (as well as the MD11) offers more space (thus more intrinsic comfort, but it all depends on the arrangements by the airlines) than the 767. The A330 is wider than the B767 for the same number of seats per row -> more shoulder room.

Andre, i was more pointing on the turbulence factor. All big airbus planes are much more sensitive for turbulence then the big boeings. Don't ask me why because nobody gave me that answer yet. In my opinion (i flew with the A340) this is totally correct, the MD-11 where I normally fly with (1st of November again) is much more relaxed to fly.
Since some members like my pics I'll place these ones here...
