Why did Airbus test it's A380 in Colombia? Ok, I understand the range was good but to my knowledge none of the A380 customers are from Latin America or even Iberia who operates many flights to it's former colonies.

Are there other airlines planning to fly the A380 to Latin America?

I though many airports had to make some change to accomodate the A380 (runway length and width, boarding gates, etc.)

It was for high altitude+ hot temperature testing, Medellin runway is 45 meters large, so it can handle the A380, the airports have to make modifications for the taxiways and the gates, they do not really need to make modifications for the runways.
Hope this helps.

They probably replaced the water in the ballast tanks with drugs, in order to finance the A350.

Probably they have done a narcotic test to all the airplane, especially those water tanks!

Yes perhaps Varig is looking for new planes to not perform maintenance on.

I think that the reason of flying the aircraft to Colombia was exclusively for testing, because there is no south american airline really interested in a big plane like the A380.

Well, with South America heading towards Socialism and in general anti-Americanism, Airbus will have an easier time selling down there than Boeing. That's not a political statement, just an observation.
By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly an airplane?

They should have turned up in La Paz, after the inauguration of Morales they could have loaded the plane with legal narcotics.

Can Airbus export to Cuba? Boeing presumably cannot.

Remember people, the A380 is not a drug transporter!
