SAS Airbuses problem

Post by airazurxtror »

According to the Belgian newspaper "Le Soir" for 17/01/06, quoting the "Svenska Dagbladet", SAS has been criticized for security shortcomings on 10 Airbuses.
The STK (Scandinavian Aviation Authority) has sent SAS a letter threatening to ground some aircraft if the problem was not resolved. SAS had allegedly flown during about one year with aircraft that were not fit to fly.
A spokesman for SAS said that the problem is now rectified.
Somebody knows what happened to these Airbuses ?

The planes concerned are the wide body Airbus planes of SAS.

They apparently didn't do the proper maintenance on the engines of the planes. A don't know more....

I hope SAS will quickly put things straight. We already knew the airline didn't perform very well but seeing that they neglect the maintenance is quite shocking for a world class airline as they are/were.

How did the STK let them fly for one year if the problem was not solved? If this is true, the authorities have problems as well, and they are not doing their job right....my 2 cents.

SAS security

I donno the details, but is not acceptable!

We rightly must pretend proper complete maintenance from the carriers.

Is SAS from a poor country ? is a LCC ? even they receive checks and if not fit they get a ban.

Someone told me maintenance is the most critical part of running a plane, not the age itself...

Are they in financial crisis ? Well, let's try to avoid to ise them, while they don't complain...

Sorry if i sound ultra stricht, but i think we don't deserve these jockes from airlines..
