In terms of wanting to know how a 90 min rule would apply to a Boeing 727 losing an engine at cruise altitude over the ocean, can anyone please advise me what the 727's best engine out speed is at say 28,000 ft ?
Obviously this would be a drift down situation until the two remaining engines can hold altitude. Any former 727 pilots hazard a guess for me ?
By the way I realise the 90 min rule does not apply to a three holer, but say a regulatory authority did apply such a rule ?
Anyone know 727 engine out speed at altitudes ?

I used to have a 727 manual, but as usual when you need something you can't find it.
But this spec will give you an idea how good this plane is.
First jetliner to prove it could operate -- even with one engine out -- from Bogata, Colombia (8,355-foot elevation), Cuzco, Peru (10,800-foot elevation), and LaPaz, Bolivia (13,358-foot elevation). No jet had operated at any of these airports before.
