Private flight to Innsbruck...

Hi all,

I've planned to fly IFR to Innsbruck next week. Plane will be DA40 or PA28-181. Does anybody have been there before?

All suggestions, info, pictures etc... would be welcome.

I hope you will have nice weather, the approach is great, but make yourself familiar with the procedure first - you will be flying close to obstacles during your final and the weather is an important factor.

Watch out for heavy turbulence above the river Inn and the city center of Innsbruck - including wind shear!

Furthermore watch out for restrictions - you will not receive any clearance at this airport under cnditions you could fly somewhere else.

There is quote a chapter in the Austrian AIP regarding VFR and IFR OPS at INN - please have a look at it.
