Singapore Airlines ready to place another big fleet order with Boeing! although not officially announced, the usual sources at Boeing indicate they will get the order.

Finally!! The 777-200LR is picking up a few more orders!!
Boeing's marketing team is doing an excellent job this year in selling their products. It makes me wonder how much Boeing is reducing their prices, or how good the cost-savings are because a lot of airlines have been leaning towards Boeing these past few months. I saw this one coming though. Didn't SIA just sign up for Boeing's integrated maintenance program???

"What's this button do?? I don't know, push it and find out................."
good point
Yes, in that respect, without Airbus, maybe we would all be still flying in 747-200, 727-200, DC9 and L1011...

found on the Internet that SQ hasn't decided at all if they will put an order with Boeing.
Wall Street announced Friday 23th December that SG ordered many 787s and 777s. That announcement was the reason for rise of the Boeingshares on the stockmarket.

It's indeed not confirmed, yet, by SQ that they want some more long haul aircrafts.
Any way it seems that Boeing will deliver a lot more aircrafts in 2007 then Airbus. But that's not a surprise. Boeing can offer the B 787 Dreamliner and the B777ER and LR. Airbus presented mostly the A350.
The A380 is way to big for what the customers want at this time, I hope they will sell some more then the 159 now, otherwise it would be a financial disaster.
Come on marketing, sales team of Airbus, do your best

SQ will use Airbus to squeeze Boeing like Qantas did
can't blame them
Well, i mean as soon as SIA wants 777-300ERs or 777-200LRs, Boeing will win unless they separate their order between Airbus and Boeing, which doesn't look like a very popular way of doing things lately...
Unless of course, the A345/6E will be better than the 777s and that SIA can wait until 2011 for delivery.
I hope A350 wins this, it needs more order than currently what it has! But honestly I am not very optimistic...
By the way, isn't releasing 'fake' information illegal? I mean you're releasing info that DIRECTLY affects the shareprice of 2 companies.

Which part of the article is fake?
SINGAPORE -(Dow Jones)- Boeing Co. (BA) looks set to beat arch-rival Airbus ( ABI.YY) in a contest valued at upwards of US$10 billionto supply Singapore Airlines Ltd. (S55.SG) with new long-range passenger planes, according to people familiar with the airline's plans.
SIA, the world's second-biggest airline by market capitalization, is mulling a firm order for 66 to 80 Boeing aircraft, with an option for up to another 30, these people said.
"The indication is an order made up mostly of the 777-200LRs and a significant number of the 787 Dreamliners. A few, 5 or 6, of the 747-Advance freighters may also be part of the order," one of the sources said.
At this point, SIA isn't considering including any Airbus planes in the order, he and two other people said.
