"nen drietachtig" ( simple Flemish dialect translation of "a three-eighty")

But I gues only flemish spotters will use this term.

Maybe "Maximus" is appropriate ...

Personally I call both the 747 and the A380 "fatass" (pardon me for not censoring myself). I think I could call it the "flying elephant" as it appears huge and clumsy.

RYR8023 wrote:"Big bird" sounds nice, but it's already the callsign of Hungarian-Ukranian Airlines.

And a 1 word nickname would be funnier... 8)

I would suggest "Diplodocus" !

I think you are confusing the normal Airbus A300-600 with the modified version of the same plana called the Airbus A300-600ST or Beluga capable of carying unusual bulky over-sized cargo! more info on Wikipedia!

I would just call the A380 the whale :)

Yes, but the Beluga is already a kind of whale not ?

Not exactly...

But of course, the A380 and Beluga have lot in common... So, The Whale-Jet, why not!
