Expansion of Wizz Air continues
After Wizz Air (W6) announced its ambitious plans and almost a month ago established a crew base in WAW , another important move by the Central/Eastern European no-frills carrier was made to open another base in GDN (Gdansk). Today W6 added another city to its cumbersome network, from Gdansk to Lübeck, near Hamburg. GDNLBCGDN will start operations from March 3rd, 2006 x4 wkly.

Good observation earthman, although it's very ironic that W6 uses Terminal Etiuda(no-frills terminal) in WAW. What's very interesting is that pink is the colour of the handling company in WAW, Warsaw Airport Services (WAS). WAS handles W6, by the way. The logo of the airport is purple and pink, W6 fits in perfectly.earthman wrote:Their colour scheme looks like the colours used for Terminal 1 at WAW.
T2 will have a much modern look to it, T1 is packed to the edges, it was designed to serve 3,5 mln. pax and this year it served more than 6 mln. pax. Also after T2 will be functional later next year, T1 will be renovated.
Here are some renderings of T2 in WAW: http://www.lamela.com/ingles/indexI.html
I usually arrive late in the evening, and I leave early in the morning, and at those times the terminal does not seem crowded. I do hope that KLM will get more check-in desks when the new terminal opens though, there is always a long line in the morning (full of people who did not use the internet check-in).
It also seems that Terminal 2 will not be purple-pink?
