Etihad airline experience

Post by Vinnie-Winnie »

Hi all,

if you wondered how a flight between Abu-Dhabi and Europe would be, check these 2 links out:

http://www.airliners.net/discussions/tr ... ain/67281/

Jetmaster flew from Frankfurt to Abu-Dhabi and back!

If you got the courage to read the whole report, it seems like there are quit a few hik-ups :?

No belly dancers.
When you have a flight to Bangkok or Johannesburg, they let you loose in Abu Dhabi airport for 9 hours. Wait , don't say that is a long transit. You could rephrase it as an expedition in a refugee camp. The adventure of your life.

Yeah - AUH isn't great, especially if it is at a busy time. You can try and get into one of the lounges if you have a long wait. I was in one a couple of weeks ago courtesy of being Flying Blue Platinum and it was pretty good.

Then again if I had nine hours I would leave the airport, go to one of the many beach clubs (about 40mins drive - except Al Rahda but that maybe pricey though 10mins from AUH) and lie in the sun for a few hours before heading back.

Unless your at night - in which case go for a few beers in town. Or in the middle of the night....well....then you will be bored to hell.
