JAT undergoing many changes for next year.......
There has been many changes installed for JAT next year, which are good ones.
i - JAT will have an all new website which will be up and running on the 1st January 2006. It is said to have features such as their latest news and updates and even online booking.
ii - JAT is expected to recive its first A319 in June. This is said to be used on it's BEG - DXB service.
iii - New aircraft is to enter the fleet. It is 5 ERJ170's, 5 B738's, 8 A319's and 2 leased B767's.
iv - new destinations will open to YYZ and JFK, while Trieste will be reopened this winter.
with the ERJ170's, i am sure they will be used on flights to SOF, OTP, BUD and maybe to ZAG, DBV, SPU. This is said to coninside with their flights to JFK and YYZ, giving faster connections to smaller Balkan cities.

They decided to (unexpectedly) cancel Cairo this week. Last month it was Beirut and Damascus. They have a very bad reputation in Egypt due to constant delays, poor aircraft conditions and rude staff. On the other hand AVIOGENEX AIRLINE who have a weekly Monday flight have a better reputation with Egyptian travel agencies.
It is quite strange that nowadays an international airline orders a series of aircraft of miscellaneous aviation manufactories as it is not quite cost effective.
And isn't it also strange that JAT seems to call so much attention to a destination as JFK(historical prestige destination) where SNBA does not seem to be bodered by it

JAT need to open heaps of places which were lost when Yugoslavia fell apart around 14 years ago.
JAT were also flying to places like after the break up LUX and PEK, but now....nothing. Not even a DC10-30 left in the fleet.
JU are asking for 2 B767's yeah? well other than just opening JFK and YYZ, why don't they open SIN? makes sense to me. And if i have calculated correctly, there should be adequate amount of time to do 2x weekly for JFK, YYZ and SIN flights.
well i hope JU don't plan on going to fly their B767's with no colors. Well, i have created a few colourschemes. picture the original JU colours...then without the Yugoslav Airlines...now with 3/4 of the fuselage blue with big white block letters that spell.....JAT! I will have to scan and post the pic.

My information from Serbia tells me that nothing is decided yet. These information written here are only thinking if ... or ... maybe ...
My opinion is that it is impossible for Jat to return ever to its size and to reach all destination as when it was the flag carrier of former Yugoslavia 15 years ago.

you are very correct, JU will never return to what it used to be but slowly, slowly. all we can do is wait. It took JU around 50 - 55 years to get to where they were then.Aerocroatia wrote:My information from Serbia tells me that nothing is decided yet. Remember the good old days when the Yugoslav states were getting millions of tourists, was more well known, heaps of flights and airlines to places like BEG, ZAG, SJJ, LJU. now it is rebuilding.
Maybe one day we can see an alliance between JP, OU, JA, JU, AGX, YM, IN, Adriatic and Dubrovnik Airlines. Would be nice to see.
When will JU do their ZAG flights. OU and JU were supposed to the flights, but only charters are done.

Hi Folks !!
I mean the stroy about jat is old and not funny.
Changes in this ailrines are not so easy to do like
in other airlines.
I also know that jat will not cooperate with airbus, they
want to get closer to boeing like in the past.
They also took their investet money back from airbus
Regards to all

still, cant an airline be with 2 alliances?
i agree with people to say that JU can not be belevied anymore...
JU say they do something and then dont.
The old JAT was alot better, especially when Tito was getting planes for JU.
He was organising for a number on MD11's after visiting the MD factory.
JU should not break away from Airbus at all. It will be their biggest mistake if they did. I think Airbus can have alot to offer JAT if they were interested abit more. The A330 would be a better option for JU as the B767 is older than the A330, meaning it can stay with JU alot longer. Didn't they have an option for B787's?

Theoretically yes, if al partners agree on that in writing. But that will not happen: NO WAY!JAT_boy_BEG wrote: still, cant an airline be with 2 alliances?
Let's be happy that this way of making business is over...JAT_boy_BEG wrote: The old JAT was alot better, especially when Tito was getting planes for JU. He was organising for a number on MD11's after visiting the MD factory.

I totally disagree - a new B767 can remain in the fleet as long as a new A330, as any other new aircraft. If it's a used one, it may be much cheaper which is not unimportant. There are many factors to be considered, especially the routes you want to fly since they influence the every-day-economics of the airline.

Well, it doesn't matter about the aircraft now just as long as they get some, that is their main priority.
Is JAT going to be a success? Will JAT keep their planes neat and in tact?
MA have failed in keeping their planes intact, and they have lost their N/American flights.
Also, JAT should have only removed the colours on 1 plane, then repainted it in their new colours, and if they like it, they could do it to the rest of the fleet. The colours on YU-ANJ will not be used anymore. They have a new scheme but i dont think they will use it. I got a picture of a JAT B733 on the runway in BEG, and trying to alter some colors. Looking good i think.

How can JAT be grounded if all their flights are running. I fly on their DXB-BEG service later this month so i should know.
http://www.beg.aero
Looks like JAT have paid the amount needed (US$16 mill) for them to start receiving the A319's, as 4 arrive in the summer time of 2006, and the other 4 in summer 2007.
JAT will restart Trieste and Banja Luka services and will be flown with ATR72. JAT stopped these flights during the JAT strike.
JAT will release a JAT Australia website in December. The JAT Middle East website is still not finished. http://www.jat-me.com for those intrested.[/url]
