Dammam, new cargo destination ex-BRU

Post by Atlantis »

From 30.10.05 Damman, Saudi Arabia, will be a new cargo destination from BRU. Saudi Arabian Airlines will serve this city twice a week with an MD11.

Saudi Arabian seems to be satisfied with BRU. Good news!

Yep, it's their third destination from BRU

BTW Martinair Cargo also opened a new cargo route to Damman. It seems to be popular to bring goods to that part of Saudi Arabia and back.

Is this flight one the flights currently flying via OST or is this flight in addition to the flights from OST?

Cargo Timetables:
DAMMAN (DMM)
See our timetables help page for an explanation of the tables.
Print version

Flightnumber Days Dep. Arr. Type Validity
SV928 ---4--- 17:00 01:00 M1F 3010-2503

How does Damman Airport (DMM) relate to Dhahran Airport (DHA)?
Both are located very close to one another, I believe.

SV has definitely been serving BRU-DHA in the past.
I thought SV had been serving JED, DHA & RUH ever since out of BRU.

It could be that in the past Damman was served by SV. But in the last couple of years Damman was not in the timetable anymore.

This is a lottle bit off topic, but Ethiopian Cargo don't give at this time their new timetable. That's strange to me, even more because since a couple of weeks they served two more new destinations in Africa ex-BRU.

This is a new flight.

The flights from EBOS are actually fuel stops on the route Abu Dhabi - Ostend - New York which used to be flown via Brussels.

Both are indeed nearby. It seems that DMM is the commercial airport of the region as I can't find a commercial service from DHA.

Andries, a little typo there. Obviously it is not Abu Dhabi, but Jeddah-OST-JFK(-IAH).

Below you can find the SV Cargo schedule...

Thanks LJ, perhaps DHA got dedicated to military operations. Just guessing.

Good to see SV is expanding its operations in Belgium .

The flight from EBOS is just once a week and its just a fuel stop when the plane is coming From Houston or Washington.

Just a little correction :) , it is called Dammam ( DMM ) not Damman .
It is situated on the East coast of Saudi Arabia .
