New airline to fly between South Africa and U.K.

Post by mulder »

Do anybody know anything about a new airline thats going to fly between JNB and LGW?The name of the airline is Cantoun. The rumour is that they will be starting their flights in December 2005.Cant find them on the internet. The only people that seems to have heard about them are their future employees(some who have already left their present employee) who will be starting their training soon.

Anybody with more information?

Regards,
Mulder

Hi Mulder,

Here you can read some stuff on a forum from JHB :

http://skyscrapercity.com/showthread.ph ... ost5742242

Cantoun Airlines has been somewhat of a mystery to a lot of folk on the continent. Rumor has it that they will operate their JNB-LGW flights via ACC (something to do with rights between SA & UK, so using ACC would by-pass this). We can't seem to find any info on them but as soon as we smell something, we shall surely post it here.

Cheers,

Walter.

flying old 747's over Ghana. Hm. Better take the BA world plus I assume.
The product of Nationwide is very well respected in the UK. But for us Belgians, it is not interesting. You can buy a ticket Bru-Gatwick-JNB. But it is 200-300 euro more expensive

AFAIK, Cantoun shall be a new airline and not a part of Nationwide. Can any one confirm?

Nationwide is an airline based in South Africa. Here's their web address: http://www.flynationwide.co.za/

The prices of Nationwide are not cheap, just checked. Kulula is much cheapier. I tried some months ago to book on 1Time. But you cannot pay by foreign credit card. I just noticed that it is the same problem with Nationwide. At the desk of 1Time at JNB they told me it is not because of problems with europeans, but because of...the nigerians and congolese scams!
