I was just wondering the same.
Silverback seems to be on the blacklist from Belgium, maybe that's why she isn't allowed to depart BRU?

She was already confiscated about one week before black list was made, due to some "major irregularities"

Whish hanger is it stored in ? is it near the DHL area or The military hangers because i saw it move from the cargo apron (i have pics) to the DHL area but never saw it take off.

If it was only for the bad tire they wouldn't impound the aircraft.
A tire can be changed in a short period of time.

There must be something else going on which caused this aircraft to be impounded at BRU.

Silverback is planning to go to court in Belgium to protest against their name on the blacklist. They don't agree with this.

The biggest concerns are oil & fuel leaks in wing en pylons visible by the absorbtion granules on the floor, also tires & brake wear out of limits was clearly visible, and some other minor things... the engines looks pretty ok. I will upload some more pictures later on

Thats what I mean: If they dont even change a tire, in this state, one can just imagine how the rest of the aircraft is maintained!

Many thanks bilboone for "the scoop"!

I think the most revelent picture on how well is maintained the aircraft is the last picture of the tires. You can clearly see the wear witness has disapeared since a long time now. I'm not able to see the brakes wear witness but my bet is it's all the same!

Now that was a joke no offense intended personaly i would hate having a graveyard airport but the way BRU has a few impounded aircraft now and it could keep growing in number untill it really is.

Wheels, brakes, fuel leaks... not that brilliant state at all...

I assume they are parked at H8 (next to DHL facilities).

Yeah!! BRU has a lot of those cases the last time. The accident with the 'Mandala Air' 737 in Indonesia isn't,' good either. Now there will appear even MORE of those cases. If this continues 2 or 3 more years (those controls and groundings) than I will see many nice planes in what I hope the beginning of my aircraft technics carrier), so in THAT cas it isn't SO bad

But for the rest I find it very sad. Everything , the accidents , the banned airlines and aircraft(they should maintain them better.)....

REALLY? might be nice or cool for maybe a month , until you have taken your pics. But as you might know...airports (or graveyards----look to Marana Pinal Park (Arizona---(Evergreen)) and some others) , airports with lots of stranded/grounded broken or illegal aircrafts , don't attract much new airlines...they distract them...it just isn't good commercial.

You get what I mean? It just doesn't fit. (now don't think I'm mad at you ha...

So I would say...get that AN-124 the heck out of there. It's been standing there yet for a muuuuch to long long time. I'd love to see its departure again...and even if I would miss it , I would be happy. Also remind this (there might be no chance to that anyway but....)there will NOT come any other airplane of the 'Antonov Design Bureau' until the BRU problems are solved. So NEITHER AN AN-225. So as long it looks like a graveyard @ Melsbroek airside...don't hope for too much. (text removed as based on assumptions and rumours)

What's the reason for "possible" banning SQ, CX, Kalitta and others at BRU? What include that rumour: banning for a short period or banning for ever. That's really impossible if you know that most of the company's at Brucargo are working with the airlines who flies at Brucargo. Do you know what the impact will be? No freighters at Bru is no Brucargo anymore.

As you already said this is a rumour and they generally don't havy any reliable source.

This is not only bad publicity for the airport but also for the airlines.
SQ is a very respected airline throughout the whole world just as CX.

And regarding to Kalitta, yes they had some extra inspection but things are cleared up around this airline and they are still permitted in every country, so also this is not true.

Admins: sorryfor going off topic but I think that these kind of rumours don't belong here.
