Here is the Boeing press-release:
http://boeingmedia.com/images/one.cfm?i ... &release=t

The aircraft looks very nice, let's hope that Boeing will stay with this design and not change it into something more boring, like they did with the exterior. :(

I see that the cockpit has very large LCD screens, combined with the Heads-Up-Display I think those are really nice features that pilots can look forward to. Also the windows seem to be very large, as the cockpit windows also seem to give the pilot a good look to the side. The cockpit colors are something really different then from what we have seen before at Boeing (black and grey opposed to the brownish tints). Will Boeing stay with that color and will other types get that same color in the cockpit?

Happy to see that Boeing still remained with the Yoke, and did not put a side-stick into the aircraft. The Yoke gives me the feeling to be on a real airplane, and I always think of the sidestick as something that you can experience behind your PC also.

I personally prefer the tan flightdecks but the new 737's that I flew on this summer had a black and grey tint. Interesting that Boeing is changing their scheme.

I think that the 787 looks a very beautiful aircraft. The only question that I have is... Will the wings really flex that much?
Imagine the Kaagbahn photos in years to come...!

As far as I know, 737s of all series have always had grey flightdecks. Every 737 I have been in has had a grey flightdeck.

Here is the list of flight deck colors for all Boeing jet aircraft, to the best of my knowledge.

Boeing 707: Grey
Boeing 720: Grey
Boeing 717: Grey
Boeing 727: Grey
Boeing 737: Grey
Boeing 747SP, -100, -200, and -300: Grey
Boeing 747-400: Brown
Boeing 757: Brown
Boeing 767: Brown
Boeing 777: Brown

It seems that in the 80's and early 90's, Boeing made their new flight decks brown, but has since switched back to grey.

Although it won't look like the first drawings which is really a shame as it was stunning, I also think it's gonna be a very nice looking plane.

I can't wait to see it.

Which livery do you think will suit it better?

The HUD sounds like a really good idea, and maybe they could project the ILS onto it so the pilots have a good landing system evenwithout the ils 'on' (Like flight director) The cockpit seats look really cool aswell.
Why it the first flight deack pic ann mucked up (look out of the windows!)

The B787 will indeed be a very nice looking plane with a lot of state of the art equipment. But to be honest I prefer older flight decks with many little buttons instead of those huge EFIS screens.

But that's just my opinion about esthetics ;)

HUD already exits on airliners as an option. Only a very few airlines order it.
