Just heard on the radio that TAY (TNT) aircraft had to return to CFU (Corfu) airport after heading to BRU due to a birdstrike.
Does anyone have more info about aircraft registration and ETA in BRU ?

The flight is now expecting at 19.00 LT at BRU. If it is TNT airways itselfs that fly is the reg. OO-TNE of it could be Hola Airways.

On 31st July, TNT had another bird strike at Heraklion.
(don't know if that was the OO-TNE or this EC-IOR)
Pax will now arrive at BRU at 02h47 (TAY9714), with A320.

Martinair A320 coming from the Netherlands, where it was in stand-by. Sent as a taxi-plane by TNT in order to take back the passengers from CFU.

A question arises in me every time I hear about bird-strike:
Who's going to pay for all the extra cost involved in a bird strike
insurance, host airport, company ...
ciao,

The company itself I am afraid....
If I remember well the reason why Constellation went bankrupt is because they had a birdstrike on one of their Airbus A320 and didn't have enough money to repair it...

It's maybe a silly question but the cause of a birdstrike is it not the fault of the airport?
Normally they have to know when there are a lot of birds in the neighborhood. They have to tell the cockpit about that and have to take precautions.
But nevertheless, it was an ordinary birdstrike, nothing unusual.
