Although SpiceJet only has a small fleet of 3 aircrafts, it has proved to be the highest load factor among various low-cost airlines presently operating in India.
Statistics filed with The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation exhibited that Spice Jet had a load factor of almost 93% followed by Air Deccan with 81%and Jet Airways 75%. Kingfisher Air, Air Sahara and Indian Airlines followed with 72%, 71% and 64% respectively. Director of SpiceJet, Ajay Singh said that it was their emphasis on "Safe Travel, On Time Travel And On Reasonable Cost", which had attracted the passengers to their airline in just two months of their operations and this popularity had led the airline for listing of its equity.

The Hinduja group, which is on the verge of floating a domestic carrier, is close to striking a deal with the Kansagras, the NRI promoters of SpiceJet (formerly Royal Airways) to buy a strategic stake in the company, sources said. Both the parties have held several rounds of negotiations in Geneva and London and a final decision would be taken soon

In an interview, Dinesh Keskar, senior vice president, sales and president of Boeing Aircraft Trading, said the company is also negotiating a deal for 737-900ER with Spice Jet, a low cost airline in India. That deal could add another 10 orders for the new model, five firm and five optional.
