Brussels 17/08/2005 : 07L landings

Post by Yaroslav »

Hi all.
For the first time today I saw planes landing on runway 7L. The approach isn't far form my house and I like it.
So it started something like 14:45 and I saw already:
MD11 - Eva Air Cargo
A320 - Iberia (on photo)
B763 - Jetair
B752 - DHL
And many others...
I hope to see some 747s.

it was quite strange i left BRU at that time and planes were taking off and landing on that Runway.
about 12:30 i think when the UA B767 was about to leave on 25R an Airbus A32X type aircraft was on finals but then suddenly swerved off then it happened again so id like to know why that happenned but i have no idea what airline it was.

very abnormal procedure to land on RWY 07L, as is is a non precision approach, read visual approach. Will cause big delays in the evening rush hour!

Pic is showing, but very slow

I know it's abnormal, but I don't think it wil cause that big delays. Why do you think it will cause big delays?

Damned, and I'm not on my work because I have holiday. In the other case our company is just at the beginning of that runway. So we could see the airplanes coming over the fields. On the other hand I saw the TO everyday.

It must be spectacular

Hi all,

I was at EBBR for the first time this year, in the morning all traffic went on 25L (some BAe146's from SN on 25R), suddenly they changed to 07L... Not a bad place to take pics, but around 1400 the sun is shining on the back of the aircraft..

two pics from ruwnay 07L:

Vueling above the road, Eva Air approaching in the back

Image changed into URL (pic too wide, max 800, was 900)

Do you confirm it was 07L and not 07R!
as there is no published procedure on the 07L
and there is a VOR DME on the 07R it looks strange to me!
is the 07R/25L also closed??
;)

Yes, I confirm 07L!

All planes came in visual, with very strong crosswinds, plane where flying with there nose allmost pointing vertical to the runway!

07R was used for departures I believe!

Landing 07L
Take off 07R

The reason: easterly wind and 02-20 is closed due to works
