Airbus new factory in China?

Post by MrAirbus »

Hi there,
There are reports in the Chinese press that Airbus is going to build a factory (ore assembly line) in China! The report comes after rumours about a possible “big” Airbus order from CASC ore directly from Chinese carriers in the coming weeks! :?:

I suppose there won’t be any larger A350 order since they have lots of A330 on order! But they are for sure going to get some more A340-600 ore A380 at the prospect of the Olympic Games! I would love to see A340-600 in colors of China Southern ore Air China! :!:

Have a nice week end!

China Southern Airlines has already ordered 5 Airbus A380's, with focus on the 2008 Olympic Games which will be held in Beijing. But when Chinese airlines want more A380 before the Olympics I guess they should hurry up ordering it, because when they wait they won't be able to get them in time anymore (Chinese airlines also have ordered B787 do arrive in time before the Olympics in 2008). But either way, I'm sure we will see more A380 orders from China in the future.

Furthermore, in my opinion there could be a possibility for an Airbus plant in China, or at least that parts of Airbus aircrafts will be assembled there. It would be a wise business move from Airbus, because it will strengthen the ties China has with Airbus (just like with Boeing in Japan).

If I'm not mistaken, Embraer also has a plant in China, for the EMB-135/EMB-145 series.

Also a nice weekend to you MrAirbus! 8)

The story was also to read at Http://asia.news.yahoo.com

It's a smart move of Airbus to build a new plant in China. In this stage they can perhaps sell more aircrafts in this region.

China is a big market and Airbus is focusing on it since years. With the
current "Sell-Machine-Boeing" they have to strengthen their position
on the market and especially in China.

I don't think the A380 orders from Chinese airlines are really 'for-the-olympics'... China Southern is one of the last (until now) airline to order the A380, and the first A380 for SIA is not due until 2006... so whether the China Southern A380 cna make 2008 olympics, unsure right?

What I am hoping for is Cathay Pacific to order some A380s, unfortunately i remember reading that they are goign to wait for the updated 747..

Personally I think that Boeing should not put any extra R&D into ultra-large jumbos like 747s but concentrate on mid-sized like the 787 and small sized like 737, while Airbus goes on with its A380 and midsized A340/A350.. Because it is becoming more and more like the automotive world where when BMW releases a X5, Mercedes has a ML-class, but car is no problem because there are buyers everyday, but these are planes! both Boeing and Airbus will come to a loss if they are going model for model for every single plane. <--just my comments
