Air Lambert Hit the USA!

Post by samlambert »

Hello,

This is my first post here, and I am really looking forward to many more :)

After a month or two of secrecy, I can finally reveal Air Lambert’s next project. Air Lambert USA will be timed to launch exactly a year after the first Air Lambert flight took to the skies, on September 5th 2005.

The chosen base is SFO (San Francisco) from where we will provide a number of services with the Boeing 737-700, 757-200 and 777-200ER. Pictures are at the bottom of the post!

This is a completely new market for us, one which we are researching thoroughly into. We believe this will be important to our level of success in the States, making sure we are sure of exactly what our new customers want, both in routing and service. It also puts us up against some of our main US competitors.

G-LMEA and G-LMEB, our two 73G’s, left the UK fleet to be transferred to the US register a few weeks back. This was done completely secretly, us even falsely offering the planes out. Their new registrations follow in the fleet list further down.

4 757-200’s will be acquired from National Airlines and US Airways. These aircraft are currently stored in MHV (Mojave, USA) and will be completely refurbished before entering service with us. This will mean new seats, bulkheads, overhead bins, galleys. The 757’s will not be winglet fitted, as we do not feel they are not needed for the short to medium haul sectors the aircraft will be assigned.

The Boeing 777-200ER’s are brand new from Boeing and will all be delivered by the launch date. They will be used on a number of routes throughout the USA and to South America and the Caribbean, all of which will be 2 leg flights to maximise the utilisation of the aircraft.

Obviously, all this comes at a price. We have taken the decision to keep the 747-200 for an extra year at Manchester due to cost cutting methods. Both our pilots and passengers seem to have no problem with them and many will be quite pleased to hear it is staying around a bit longer. It will stay on the Orlando route for its remaining time with us.

Below is a list of the fleet and their names as well as the routes each type will be doing. We have dropped the ‘Pride of…’ from the 777, keeping just names of destinations:

Newly appointed SFO Hub manager, Chris Horsfield said the following, "These are exciting times for everyone involved with Air Lambert. A brand new hub in San Francisco, new aircraft and routes, things can only get bigger and better. From a personal point of view, things are fantastic, with regards to my promotion to Hub Manager at San Francisco, this is an exciting new position for me, and one I will look forward to, giving it 110% in order to provide the customers of ALUSA the excellent level of service that their British Counterparts have become accustomed to in the past year.”

A new website will be set up at the end of August, the website address currently displayed is not definite and is currently inactive. The link between this new division and that in the UK will be very strong, sharing the same pilots and much of that same site.

And finally, the pictures! Here’s our first Boeing 777, N777AL powering away from Boeing Field and one of our 757’s being tested on the planned routes.

That’s it from me for now, I hope you like the new developments,

Happy flying,
