I do not really think DHL would relocate to Liege.
The fact is they want to double their trafic out of Brussels. This means twice the actual number of night flights. Why do they not open a cargo airport in Chievres, like Hahn, they would not need the billions, cargo equipment is less expensive than for passengers. Also, this would leave place for the extension of the airport and the Military airport could stay where it is.
It is easier to truck cargo than to ask passengers to take a bus or els to board on a aircraft. If they open a new national airport they will wonder why they have only few passengers.
In 90 minutes you are in CDG and in a few month you will need less time to SPL.
The solution would be to split the cargo from the passenger and to operate a pure cargo airport.
All the best to everybody.

I don't want DHL to leave BRU, and I hope they won't.

Anyway if they really want to open a new airport in Chièvre, it won't be for tomorrow. It'll at least take 10 years before such a thing will happen.
So we still have time to see the planes in BRU

There is already an airport in Chièvres, Chris!

But, true, it will take at least 10 years to build the right infrastructure.

I know that there is allready an airport in Chièvre but I meant that it'll take a lot of time to build the infrastructure, like you said.
