today I received different mails from members who received the so-called Nigerian spam (or Ivory Coast spam) in their private message box.
Spam goes like this:
Permit me to inform you of my desire of going into business relationship with you. I
got your name and contact from Luchtzak Aviation.I prayed over it and selected your
name among other names due to its esteeming nature and the recommendations given to
me as a reputable and trust worthy person that I can do business with and by the
recommendation ,I must not hesitate to confide in you for this simple and sincere
business .
I am Arin Aba the only son of late Mr and Mrs JOHN ABA.My father was a very wealthy
cocoa merchant in Abidjan , the economic capital of Ivory coast, my father was
poisoned to death by his business associates on one of their outings on a business
trip . My mother died when I was a baby and since then my father took me so special.
Before the death of my father on January 2004 in a private hospital here in Abidjan
he secretly called me on his bed side and
Don't respond to this kind of scam but report it immediately to one of the administrators via private message or via mail so we can take necessary measures to ban and remove "members" who spam like this.
Note that we have a flood interval of 15 seconds between posts just to prevent spams like this. In case this is a new trend we will have to increase the flood interval.
Ivorian Arin Aba speaks very well English indeed.
I once received a similar message, there it was said his mother died a few week before he was born.... talking of an orphan....
I have just sent him a reply - in fact I forwarded an email I received from one of his fellow country people who had just won the lottery and was offering me a share !!
at last I did something charitable, I hope they both get together and are very happy !!
I can't find the good link right now, but I believe there's a whole section where people who received their e-mail reply to it and pretend to be falling into the trap, knowing perfectly that it's a scam. So they're scamming the scammers and play with their balls. Funny read actually!

Difficult to find out, but your virusscanner should attack the virus

The mail who says that you have private messages in your box is genuine. But it might be possible that somebody send you a PM, then soon after decides to cancel the sending, this is possible in your PM outbox. Hence that then you don't have PM's in your luchtzak-box.
