the airports here...are nowhere to being called even decent. some of our international airports like IGI, Delhi and Chhatrapati Shivaji, Mumbai are a major disappointment to Indians and foreigners alike. but plans are on to revamp the existing airports (especially the international ones), build a few greenfield airports (plans of which are being worked out in Bangalore, Hyderabad and some other cities) and to build new airports for easing congestion, for example: Chakan Airport near Pune (to start international passenger and cargo services) and the Navi Mumbai airport, New Bombay (to ease the traffic of the existing Bombay airports).
The plans are big, but the typical red-tapist, bureaucratic attitude of the aviation authorities involved here may delay these plans. let's hope we get to see the fruition of these dreams before the anticipation gets to us!!
