With all of the airlines (at least in the US) deferring or cancelling orders for new aircraft, these numbers seem alittle high.Over the next 20 years, airlines will take delivery of approximately:
-- 3,900 regional jets
-- 15,300 single-aisle airplanes
-- 5,600 mid-size twin-aisle airplanes
-- 900 airplanes 747-size or larger (approx. 450 airplanes in the 400-500
seats range and approx. 450 airplanes of 500 seats and above)
These deliveries will result in a world fleet of more than 35,000 airplanes.

I would think that the number of RJ's would be much higher than 3,900 & the number of mid-size to 747 range would be much lower. Seems smaller more fuel efficient is the new direction of aviation (other than the Airbus-Boeing War).
Is the Asian market that big? It certainally isn't the US market.
