Polls - What is going on?

Post by concordino »

Just logged on today and checked "posts since last visit" and it seems like we are inundated with polls, ther being 6. Why are there so many?

These poll topics and the interminable games threads are seriously infecting Luchzak at present. I find less and less good aviation content in the forums - a real shame as they could be so useful. Having to plough through so much dross seriously detracts from what should be a great site. If this is the trend then perhaps there should be a 2nd "Luchtzak" devoted to core avaition topics like news and spotting reports, leaving the existing site for the entertainment seekers.

Poll's fever.

Post by SN30952 »

Many European members, see daily in the media, debates about the european polls about the so-called european constitution*. That gives a fever.
Polls are in fact closed questions, but in Luchtzak's forum under that polls you are invited to give an opinion, share your viewangles.

That, you take it with a pinch of salt, others will rub some of the same salt in wounds, while others again will say this is not worth its salt.

The games never disturbed me, you never saw me in these 'game' forums.
Instant Polls are made possible by Internet. It's a way to see what the LZ members think, actually some infinite small part of them. So when you're talking about the relevance of these poll, I can dig that it is limited. But then again, what is in the forum under it might be relevant if not an exercise in tolerance.
And btw, each time you are warned, above the item appears [poll], so do not go in there, when you don't like it, and enjoy all the other items in forum.

(*I wrote 'so-called', don't start to argue about the words, you understood what is meant?).

I don't mind the polls in particular, but I have to agree that the overall level of Luchtzak is dropping (rather fast) these days...

Thank god we still don't have the A vs. B treads though!
Now, what will replace the DC-9 at NW?

The quality, dear members, is how you make it.
The policy of the administartors is to interefere as little as possible, and only in the most blatant infringements of the forum rules. We cannot avoid blabla...

I think the quality of the aviation forums remains high and I know if I want to ask a question it will be answered, and if I want to voice an opinion it will be respected and discussed further politely if desired

I admit to it. I was astounded by the games at first and I got out of control. But with the help of luchtzakaholics Anonymous I am freed from my need to play games. This is an aviation web-site and I'd like to do my part to keep it that way.
Call me a hypocrite but as of this moment on I will not be a part of another game!
Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

@ryanvsnow

Not sure whether you are a hypocrite but you are certainly prolific - 537 posts in 26 days - watch out Advisor your title of champion poster could well be at risk!!!!!
