Italian Air Force A319

Just read that this Italian Af 319 has been moved on to the Turkish Govt.
Does anyone know of any particular reason? Are they replacing it with a new one? Was it uneeded? Was it only a lease? Any info apreciated.

So AMI phase out the oldest A319...

Why give it away now when the new one will not be available for some time
