Presents

a new uniform.

After 17 years with no major changes, Air France decided in December 2002 to entrust a huge project to one of the greats in French fashion. His mission was to draw on his trademark elegance to translate the spirit of the French flag-carrier into a collection the Company's personnel would be proud to wear and one that would embody Air France's ambition in terms of customer service. The result is here: some one hundred items of clothing and accessories for the 17 professional categories in contact with the clientele. The theme colour is navy blue, combining the carrier's identity, classic elegance and functional practicality.

Jean-Cyril Spinetta
"The choice of Christian Lacroix clearly demonstrates Air France's desire to return to its traditions of collaboration with a great fashion designer. This choice also proves the central importance of the Air France workforce in the Company's corporate strategy, and how much we care about pleasing our 42 million passengers each year, most of whom are international travellers."

"Designing a uniform for Air France, France's roving ambassador, that is totally open to cultures the world over, is a wonderful opportunity. To some extent, Air France and high fashion belong to the same world, which has to reconcile traditions and technologies, and whose aim is to project and perpetuate the French style of gracious living."

It's maybe a bit too late, but anyway. I like it. It looks very modern and very stylish. They have even designed a new uniform for thei female pilots. That's nice. Now they don't have to look like a men. :) Air France is in my opinion very modern and stylish. Look to their interior: Very abstract and modern. I like that. What's your opinion?

I like the new uniform. Now Air France should really consider changing their livery.

Maybe they should just paint all their planes in the KLM livery.

I don't know, but I hope KLM will change their uniforms very soon as well. Their uniform is very outdated in my opinion.

Hi all!

Anyway, I have just been off an Air France flight on Sunday. What I can say is that the new uniforms are just great! Very chique, elegant, timeless and more importantly practical!

I asked a few of the FA's what they thought of it, it sounds to me that they are positive with it, though one mentioned that it really depends on which uniform... at CDG, I did see this ground staff with the one with the red scarve round her neck, and it does look very elegant.. tres chique! 8)

Btw: Service aboard AF was great and everything went on schedule.. only negative point (maybe nothin to complain actually, but just because I was the chosen one) was that I was downgraded on the train journey from the 1st class carriage to a 2nd class carriage though I held a Tempo Challenge ticket and with ST status.

I do agree that KLM should start thinking about changing their uniform... to some chique like the their counterparts.. and of course most importantly their attitude towards customers.. :x

Anyway, good job to the new uniforms.. and a job well done. :)

:)
