I don't know why you placed this post in a totally wrong topic. Too lazy to find the topic "BRU future infrastructure"??

And as second, you have to ask yourself the question why it is closed? Look around. Were there very long queues in front of you to pass the border control? Yes or no? If not, than they are simply closed bcs police can do the check. The time they check your ID is the same as you spend at those electronic ones.

Everything is with a purpose. Do you really think that BRU invest a lot of money to not use it afterwards?? Than you are really stupid.

To give you an other example. In Delhaize you can pay at the normal cash desk or you can scan your own goods and pay via the terminals. Why do you think that also in Delhaize the automated self scan is so often closed??? Bcs at the cash desk there are no queues and they can handle it. Only in case of long queues the self scan goes open.

So please, open your eyes, look around, stop your narrow and always negative thinking and see the bigger picture. Welcome to the real world

Euhm, who's being negative? I wasnt lazy, I couldnt remember the name of the other topic, I have other things to do in my life rather than remembering all luchtzak.be topics.

Secondly, yes the queue was long with several non-Schengen flights who arrived. Waiting time was about 20min. As a comparison, Heathrow has an average waiting time for european passports of 5-7 min. And just for a reference, I clear border control at different times 6-7 times a month, I passed automatic border control once in 5 months. If they arent needed, then why spend so much money on them?

This happened to me also for example in Lisboa with or without much people it's always open and yes last time it was closed there was some queues not crazy but 5 to 10 minutes waiting.

I ask the Police at the desk why it's not open,I did not receive an answer and it was rough ....

From what I understand, Pier A West will be decided this year. Taking into account the time necessary to obtain the permits and to finalise the design and construction, it should enter into service in 2023, when it will really be needed to accommodate the increased number of passengers. It will also facilitate the boarding with more passengers being able to use jet bridges rather than being transported by bus to their planes.

A future Terminal C (also mentioned in the 2040 vision) will not be needed before 2040, when CEO Arnaud Feist thinks that the airport will handle 40 million passengers and employ 120,000 people.

Pier C is foreseen in two major development phases in the 2040 vision, with phase 1 of it likely to be developed as from 2035 (could be a bit earlier or a bit later of course) , though second part of Pier C is indeed foreseen really at the very end of Vision 2040.
But that's all very long term anyway and difficult to predict what the exact needs will be then.

For Pier A West it is important to develop the concept this year to start with detailed designs and requesting the necessary permits as this will be a matter of years before they'll even be able to start building something, which will take another few years.

Does anyone know if and when they will start expanding the parking facilities? It was mentioned here a while back that Front Park 3 would be expanded, but so far nothing has happened. On the news this morning it was said that people were advised to come to BRU by public transport because pretty much every parking space is taken, so there's clearly a need for more space.
